Geotechnical Engineering
With all civil engineering projects comes the need to understand the ground conditions and design a suitable foundation system for the safe transfer of the imposed load including the self-weight of the structures. Our Geotechnical Engineering department specialises in designing both shallow and deep foundation elements such as footings, piles, pile caps, deep rafts, diaphragm walls, secant bored pile walls, contiguous bored pile walls, and soldier pile with sheet pile walls.
Our engineers use geotechnical software such as Plaxis to design the ERSS walls for the underground excavation and SAFE for raft foundation design. For the permanent work design of underground structures, design software such as STAAD Pro Vi8 and PROKON are widely used.
ECAS has a proven track record of geotechnical involvement in numerous projects. Our Geotechnical team has been involved in the development of MRT stations along the Downtown Line and Thomson-East Coast Line, and has dealt with land reclamation projects for the Marina Coastal Expressway.
