ECAS Consultants Pte Ltd has just recently been named the Civil and Structural Consultant for the proposed Jurong Island Checkpoint Expansion.
JTC Corporation intends to use around 1.6 hectares of land at P. Damar Laut for the expansion of Jurong Island Checkpoint facilities. The scope of works involved demolition, site clearance, and new infrastructure works. This new checkpoint will be used for 10 years while the permanent infrastructure is ready.
With the growth Singapore is experiencing, there has been an increase in use of land on the island for industrial purposes to offset the scarcity of land in Singapore.
Construction is set to start in 2014 and be finished by 2015.
ECAS Consultants Pte Ltd, a civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering company in Singapore, is honoured to be a key player in the development of the Jurong Island Checkpoint.
