The Spectra Secondary School in Woodlands has been awarded with the BCA Construction Excellence Award 2015 under the Institutional category. The BCA Construction Excellence Award recognizes construction projects that have demonstrated excellent performance.
The Spectra Secondary School is a 20,000m2 specialised school in Woodlands with an indoor sports hall, outdoor soccer pitch, technical rooms for housekeeping training, retail outlet training, food and beverages training, and mechanical and electrical laboratories. Precast beams and hollow core slabs were used at the classroom and workshop blocks. For the multi-purpose hall, composite structure using steel beams and in-situ concrete slabs were adopted for the 27 meter span of the floor.
The C&S design of the project was executed by ECAS Consultants Pte Ltd. The architect was Architects Vista Pte Ltd and construction was carried out by Kwan Yong Construction Pte Ltd
